Some things I have been working on.

Had to put the build something contest on hold as I got stuck in on a project for my local club.  With the new Frostgrave Maze of Malicore I started on some of the terrain for the local club that will crossover for use in pulp games too.  I have to apologize for the lighting.  I have to work with what I have at the moment.  First is my bookcases

Next is the display cases

Some scale shots.

I have also started a Jute Army for Darklands.  Beautiful Miniatures but they were designed to be cast in resin.  The metal ones are stronger but fiddly to assemble.  Once you get past that they are nice.

Last two are just projects that are now finished.

Almost forgot.  The knights who until recently said neigh!

Build something contest Post 2

Just a quick update.   Built the trays for the veg.  Just a piece of zip tie sheeted in stencil paper with some details on the edges.  As most of the trays are not visible I just had to give the impression of machinery.
These were just primed.  I am not going to paint them much past that.  Then the plants were added on.
I will paint some of the details on the sides but these are pretty much ready to install.
Hope you like.

Build Something Contest

Morning

I have started my entry in the Build something contest for 2019 on LAF.  I decided to build a hydroponic grow since I have seen containment chambers but not a growing system.

I am starting out the with plants.  I will be using blobs of Fantastic Elastic on a clear sheet of plastic as a base.  To cover this I painted a sheet of paper with acrylics.  I was sure to keep the coverage blotchy.  I punched this out with a Green Stuff World punch and arranged the leaves on the blobs.  Once set I should be able to use a hobby knife to separate the Fantastic Elastic base from the plastic so I can place the plants where I want.
Progress photos.

I probably have to do the same again to get the number of plants that I need.  The plan is to build trays for the plants to grow in and to arrange those in the growing rig.

Hope you like

Mayan Skull Rack.

Evening.
I usually do not like to do terrain with more skulls but for this I made an exception.  The planning started with the design.  It seems there was some variation in design between different city states.  Here are some examples.
What I decided to do is make an open design that miniatures could move on while keeping the basic features.  It is also generic enough to use for multiple genera.

I had to drill out 234 skulls from a variety of manufactures.  They include GW, Secret Weapon, Reaper and some old Fortress Figure skulls.  Then they were mounted in match sticks and wire.
The base is foamcore coated in Magic Sculpt.  I still have some basing and weathering to do.

Hope you like.

Mostly finished

I just a a couple of more things to do and these are done.  The white pumpkins were glazed with an orange wash.  The leaves and vines were washed with dark green then the edges of the leaves painted and washed again with a flesh wash.
