House of the chattering skulls complete

 Had time today to finish painting and glue everything in place.  Only one photo of the front as the sides and back are just brickwork.  It is designed to either be placed against another building on the sides or to make small alleyways between buildings.

 This will be a bit of a long one as there are a fair few photos.  

First I have a new interior element.  It is a magical mirror/gateway.  Used the shirinkidink/resin combo again to make the image float.  It does not show to well in the photo but it IRL it is floating.  

Next I built the building itself.  There is an arcane circle in the center with candles and some detritus strewn around the room.

I still need to work out some more details for the interior and then I will finish up the exterior of the build.

 I finished some more bits and pieces and should be ready to start construction on the building.  

Not quite sold yet on the green flame.  Might have to play with it a bitif I am going to use it.

 Just a quick update.  The necromancer needs something to work with.  I picked up these from Etsy.  

Gave them a quick paint-job as they will be partially obscured.

 Finished the chattering skulls for the front of the build.  Nothing new.  Just some Mayan style skull racks.  

I am now waiting for some bits to come in. 

Starting a new building.

At this point, I am calling this the house of the chattering skulls.  It will be a Necromancer's workshop.  Started with a dresser, a work table and a stone symbol to put on the wall.  The work table is constructed with embossed foamex and a reaper bones zombie.  The dresser is made with mount board and stencil paper.  The bits are 3d printed plastic GW skulls and home made books.  The Symbol is Fimo with a GSW roller symbol.

Playing with UV resin.

 I got a deal on the Amazon for 300 mils of UV resin and decided to see what I could do with it.  

The first thing was to try a clear skull coming out of a pool or gateway.  I used Oyumaru to make a press mold of a GW giant skull, cast it in clear resin.  I textured a ring of foamex as stone and made a backing of crumpled up foil on mount-board. 

Once I assembled it I set the skull in the center and then filled around with more resin.  This was tinted with a GW ink.  

Next I did the same but tinted the resin itself with ink. 

I also used some clear Shrinky-dink plastic to make a small skull drawing.  I then used a 25mm resin mold to cast that into resin to see how transparent it would be.  

As you can see the plastic is still slightly visible.  

Then I did another test.   This time with a larger drawing of a menacing shadow.

It baked down to this

This was mounted on clear plastic and set in a doorway.  I used inks to add tinting to the plastic, set in resin front and back then textured with Modge Podge.
