Evening.
I usually do not like to do terrain with more skulls but for this I made an exception. The planning started with the design. It seems there was some variation in design between different city states. Here are some examples.
What I decided to do is make an open design that miniatures could move on while keeping the basic features. It is also generic enough to use for multiple genera.
I had to drill out 234 skulls from a variety of manufactures. They include GW, Secret Weapon, Reaper and some old Fortress Figure skulls. Then they were mounted in match sticks and wire.
The base is foamcore coated in Magic Sculpt. I still have some basing and weathering to do.
Hope you like.

Gargantuan
For Warmahordes I play both Mercs and Crocks. Unfortunately they do not make a gargantuan for the crocks. I stumbled upon this sarcosuchus on Shapeways.
The measurements looked right so I ordered one. The crock turned out to be just the right size to fit into a cut out 120mm base. When I received it the whole thing was hollow, so I back filled the model with plaster. Then I added the rope supports for the howdah and bulked up the sides so it looked like the ropes were taught. Here are a couple of pics with Bloody Barnabus for scale.
I wanted the howdah and mortar to look like they were scavenged. I constructed the howdah to look like the ripped out wall from a barn or deck of a ship. Then I constructed the mortar from plastic tubing and green stuff. I used a hot pin head to distress the surface and chipped the barrel. I tied it down to the surface of the howdah and added a green stuff sandbag to support the back.
Here it is in place.
So far I was lucky enough to find a used Bloody Barnabus to convert into the driver. Lots of cutting and now some re-building. I have a witch doctor on order to add in as a gunner.
Let me know what you think.

Just a quick update.
Just got back from visiting the family in the UK and I should be able to apply for my visa on 1 Feb 14. I just have to get the paperwork together. In the mean time I have been working on a couple of custom objective markers for Warmachine. They were pretty straight forward so I am not going to go into real detail on the construction. Just bits pinned down and arranged nicely.

Update on the "dynamic" vanguard and my crappy paint job.
Finished the paint and base. I cannot claim prizes here. My painting is not what it use to be and I am working with only a small portion of the tools/paint/lighting that I normally would.
The last photo is becasue I had many questions about the rake on the PP forums.

A little something that I have been working on.
At
this time almost all of my tools, paints, and supplies have already
shipped. Saying that, I picked up the Galleon to take it with, and
could not leave it alone. I had to purchase paints and tools as I
went. It came out OK. For the base, I wanted to do something different
than the Galleon rolling in from the sea, so mine is hiding in the corn
field. Hope you like.
