BSC Post 3

I finished the two easy clock faces and glued them in place.  The sun dial is just some sheets of mat board and stencil paper scribes for the grooves, a punched sun, brass letters and some brass wire.

The long count calendar is not great but it will do.  It is made of scribed foamex with some 15mm skulls from CP models.

These are glued in place now.

BSC 2023 post 2

Here is my afternoons work.  All four sides are done.  Tim the enchanter for scale.

BSC 2023

It is time for the LAF Build Something Competition again and I am having a go again.  The something this year is a place of worship.  As I am trying to steer clear of temples for my Frostgrave terrain I decided to do a shrine.  As they are often overlooked in the game I decided to build a shrine to chronomancers in the form of a clock tower that will end up doubling as a dice tower.  Here are this mornings efforts.  As I have the rest of the weekend free I am hoping to finish the majority of the structure.

Fantasy Bakery

In my attempts to figure something else aside from temples to build for my no ruined or frozen Frostgrave terrain I decided to build a bakery.  As all bakeries need bread I made ten Roman style loaves out of milliput then did press molds using instamold.  After a week of making bread with that mold I had enough.  Here are some of the loose bits of bread that I have yet to use.

Next I did some shelving to store the loaves and a display for out in front.

After that I did some more storage shelves with a variety of ingredients and stuff.  I also painted up some loose items to have cluttered in any excess space.

Lastly for furniture I needed a grinding stone and a table to work dough on.  The grinding stone is a 1p and 2p coin with some putty.

All of these need a building with an oven so the basic interior is here.

Once I finish construction of the roof, painted the basic structure and glued in all of the set dressing I will liberally dust the whole interior with white weathering powder to simulate the excess flour that would be pretty much everywhere.

Another Otheworld model and some in game shots.

First is another Otherworld alter with victim.  I ordered the alter becasue it was half off and they included the victim with the order.  Absolute bonus.  I set it in my large temple.

We took a break from the Thaw of the Lich Lord campaign and played a single game of Frostgrave with three first level wizards.  We decided to play the Summoning Bell for a bit of a challenge.  The game started out well with a worm coming out on turn one along with some minor undead.  In the end all but two summoned monsters came in one one corner of the board and they consisted of rats, toads and ghouls so they did not actually interfere with the bands too much.    We had to finish before the end of turn six so did not complete the game.  Everyone ended up with two treasures and experience for killing at least some monsters.  Hope you like

Just some fantasy models

Been in my normal end of year funk.  I think when the early nights close in it just saps my enthusiasm for painting and modeling.  Saying that I was able to finish some models to be used for fantasy gaming.

First off some Northstar skeletons.  Tried to make them look freshly risen with old equipment.

Next is an Otherworld Miniatures Litch

Some Otherworld shriekers

Lastly are some Otherworld Stirges.  I mounted these on my home made springy flying bases.  I find them better than the clear plastic stand becasue the spring stops most accidental bending of the wire by allowing it to flex and it tends to visually blend into the scenery better.  It also allows the models to be positioned at different angles and gives a better impression of flight.

Hope you like.

Counters for a fist full of lead

Finished up some counters for a fist full of lead.  As I wanted them for my vaqueros I used sombreros as a base.  Started off with four sombreros from Sally Fourth games.  They came with heads attached so I removed those.  The rest of the details are some Rogue Trader era plastic space marine knives, some 3d printed bottles a skull off the plastic wizards sprue from Northstar  and some green stuff shells from a Green Stuff World mold.   Here are the finished counters mounted on bases.

From left to right.  one wound, out of ammo, stunned and two wounds.

Then I used instamold to make a press mold of each piece.  I also cut two vents in the sides as I wanted a metal base on the bottom of the green stuff.

These were then cast four times.

And painted.

Top to bottom, out of ammo, stunned, one wound and two wounds.

Hope you like.
