Been on a painting tear.

Anyone that knows me will tell you that I hate to paint models.  I love making and building terrain and playing the games but I find models tedious.  Generally I will paint two or three models that I really like rather than whole units of models.

This latest batch of painting started with me picking up the Guards of Traitors Toll.  It has 24 civilians and 12 guards in the box so I knew that I would have to sit down and force myself to do some work.

The first nineteen models here are the civilians.  Eighteen are from the guards box and the other one is a studio miniature from their not Monty Python line.

The Sprue is pretty good as it give you three men and three women and lots of options.  The only complaint that I have is with the women.  There are fewer head options and one pose is walking at what appears to be a fast pace.

The next six are guards.

I have no complaints about the sprue on this one.  Very nice models all around.

Next are some models that I painted in between the above as a bit of a pallet cleanser so I did not get bored.

Firs some scarecrow men from Warbases.

Then some Spaceballs.  From an Etsy seller

Lastly is a parcel delivery robot from Alternative armies.

Working on finishing up the last eight models for the Guards of Traitors Toll and then I will probibly be done painting miniatures for the next year or so.

Hope you like.

First game of Stargrave

We played our first game of Stargrave and it was pretty fun.  It plays much like Ghost Archipelago with guns.  I fielded a Mystic and a Biomorph against a Tekker and a Veteran.  Shooting is much more deadly in this game than in Frostgrave but it is not a deal-breaker.  Loads of fun even though I got shot to hell.  My mystic survived until the last round but ended up falling to gunfire.  Here is the board.

Ore marker

The dungeon accessories mould from Hirst arts has some very useful pieces in it.  I never really had much use for the crystals though but I still saved them every time I poured the mould.  I finally found a use as an ore marker.  Based on a 70mm MDF base and painted with acrylics.  I figure it will take me another few years to cast enough of them to do a second.

First models for Stargrave

Started painting the metals when they came in.  Only one conversion on the mystic as I did not like the head.

Psionist

Objectives.  Again with dice inserts.

More models in anticipation for Stargrave

Picked up some more baddies from CP Models.  Their Avian squad.  Nothing spectacular but they will work as baddies.

Next are some objective markers.  I decided to mount them on 30mm bases so I could put a dice insert in them.  Now if I ever need to number the objectives I can.  Bits from Black Cat Bases, Crooked Dice and my bits box.

Some mini's for Stargrave

With Stargrave being released soon I figured that I would get some baddies done.  Pit fiend from Crooked Dice, converted Tin Man from Reaper and Alien Legionaries from Crooked Dice.

Hope you like.
