Ethereal models for fronstgrave

 Reaper 02968, 02314, 14274 Artizan BDL200 and BDL201.  I painted them using the great tutorial from the Gardens of Hecate.

 Finished water on the first three and poured the fourth.

 So I am happy with my proof of concept for the unit.  I started with the finished Shield Maiden and added some vegetation to the sandy beach base.  I also made some very small fish from Fimo.  These were painted and glued to a piece of fishing line then glued to the base. 

Once set this was put into a GSW Containment Mould. I poured the resin almost to the top and let set overnight.  Then I used UV hardening resin agitated with a coffee stirrer to create waves.

Sheild Maidens 2

 So I have been enjoying painting the Shield Maidens.  The first three are pretty much done on the paint front.  Just to be clear my miniature painting is craptastic and has never moved beyond tabletop quality but I am quite happy with these.   I did one of each of the random troop selection.  There are still eight models to go.  

 

 

Sheild Maidens

 Every so often there is a model that just surpasses all of your expectations in regards to detail and subject matter.  TT combat terrain has done just that.  What is not to love about halflings riding walruses! 

 

 I have not done a fantasy army in quite some time and after getting these I am tempted.  I can imagine a massed cavalry charge with the blubber and tusks thrashing into their enemies.

 

 

 

 

Building a building my way #3

This has been sat in my box of shame since 2015.   I decided to finish it as I am between projects.  Mostly finished the interior and it needs some weathering and I have yet to build the roof.
